Attending a performance at Canopy + the Roots is a little different from going to a traditional concert venue—and that’s exactly how we like it. Our intimate listening room, the Roots, is designed to bring artists and audiences closer together in a cozy, unique setting where the artist is the focus.

Seating is casual and varies by event, so come early, grab a drink from our Apothecary & Elixir Bar, settle in, and make yourself at home.

We ask that guests be respectful of the performers and one another by keeping conversation to a minimum during sets. Most importantly, expect an evening that feels less like a big production and more like discovering great music and comedy among friends—up close, personal, and under the Canopy.

BUT YOU LOOK LIKE A COFFEE SHOP. DO THE ARTISTS PERFORM IN THE “COFFEE SHOP”?

Canopy and the Roots has THREE floors and the social house aka café is just the street-level view. You actually have to take a flight of stairs (or our bottom level access for those who should not take stairs) underground to discover the 100 seat listening room that sits beneath the Canopy tree tops. We are a fully outfitted performance venue with stage and audio. This level is only open during our ticketed shows.

PARKING?

There is plenty around, and during our show dates, it is a weekend and an evening, so the UNG parking deck accessible along Choice St. is available and free. More still, the UNG parking lot located directly across from Canopy on Main St. is free on nights and weekends.

DRINKS AND FOOD?

The cafe in the social house has various sweet breads, baked goods and some savory snacks. We are not a restaurant, however, you can “Take out to Dine in” by ordering take out from any one of our awesome resturants on the square. Downstairs in the Roots, we have NGA’s first Dry Bar at the Apothecary & Elixir Bar.

VIP OFFERING

You can reserve a table, booth, couch on the main floor or a table in the balcony for $10/ticket holder in advance of the show by emailing events@canopyandtheroots.com

SEATING

General Admission seats are all rows of seats, including the three rows closest to the stage. Everyone has a great view and every ticket seems like a backstage pass. The VIP section and the balcony are NOT general admission.
