Her roots run deep underneath the pines of the south and my voice dances through them. It echoed outward when she came into the world in January of 2003; she’s\, thus since\, spent her life searching for it. \nSydney says: \nI have sang since the day I was born. Maybe it was more like a loud cry- but who knows\, right? Growing up was no easy feat for me. Though\, music was there for me since the beginning. When times were hard I often drowned out the world\, listening to songs repeatedly until I learned them inside out. I remember\, even at a very young age\, getting very fixated\, a bit obsessive\, and emotional over certain songs. When I found a song that I related with I suddenly didn’t feel so alone and overshadowed by everything going on in life. I felt like somehow\, someway this song was meant to find me because I had prayed so hard for a friend. A friend that could understand- and suddenly\, this song told me everything I ever wanted to hear. What a feeling\, to have music as a friend. As I got older I began to slowly understand the big emotions I always felt but couldn’t figure them out enough to put into words. In my head\, there was always this giant storm. Writing songs was more than an escape for me- it saved my life. \nIt has been a struggle trying to figure out who I am and who I want to be. However\, one thing I always knew about myself is how much I have always loved older\, classic country. My music is heavily influenced by many great artist before me such as Loretta Lynn\, Tanya Tucker\, Kitty Wells\, Johnny Cash\, Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson. Though I could never live up to the mark they left behind on Traditional country\, Honky – Tonk\, and Folk music – I like to help keep their sound alive. \nMusic is a universal language that is communicated by everyone and everything in some shape or form. I find that to be incredibly beautiful. Especially in trying times – where we start to shy away from our neighbors. We disconnect from others and keep our distance. We turn our backs on one another. Music is something I hope\, I know\, can bring people together in such a beautiful and special way. Especially for that kid in their room who feels like there’s no way out. I hope my music can do for them and for others what my musical influences did for me. On days where I ask myself “ It is even worth it? “ I think about the world today and how much it has drastically changed. How it will keep changing. There is still so much to fight for and bringing each other together through writing my songs\, my stories\, is what keeps me going. We are closer to each other than we all might realize. We just have to be willing to really listen. Music asks that of people. My songwriting asks that of me. \nHunter Blalock is a songwriter who doesn’t shy away from the heavy stuff. With a well worn pen\, a beat-up guitar\, and a voice that feels like late nights on the road\, he writes songs that say the things most people are afraid to. His music digs into the raw\, real parts of life. The quiet battles\, the heartbreaks\, the unspoken truths\, offering connection in places where silence usually lives. \nProudly from Northwest Georgia\, Hunter carries the grit\, grace\, and storytelling spirit of home into everything he does. The place\, its people\, its stillness\, its struggles\, shaped him as both an artist and a person. \nHe’s been touring for years\, carving out a space on stages big and small\, and building a humble following one honest song at a time. His debut record\, Cherokee Hills\, released in November 2024\, captures that spirit—stories wrapped in melody\, meant to meet people where they are. \nIn 2025\, he followed it up with The Ear Bonez Sessions\, a live EP recorded in Athens\, Georgia. Tracked in a side room\, in real time\, the project leans into the grit and intimate nature of his performances. No polish to hide behind\, no walls between the songs and the listener\, just the sound of a writer and the weight of the words. It’s a snapshot of who he is on stage. Unfiltered\, present\, and fully committed to the moment. \nHunter doesn’t chase fame\, he chases truth. Whether it’s a dim-lit venue or the corner of a dive\, his songs carry a kind of quiet gravity\, and find you when you need them most. \nWebsite: hunterblalockmusic.com \nSpotify: \nhttps://open.spotify.com/artist/4KZ2yOgcZD1ZEJ7xxgTytK?si=amZst2FzRUyKuBCaA5VBVw \nSocials: \nhttps://www.instagram.com/hunterwblalock?igsh=aWI2Yno5ZTd3b3g5&utm_source=qr \n\n\n\n\nHunter Blalock is a songwriter who doesn’t shy away from the heavy stuff. SUMMARY:Wyatt Espalin\, Appalachian Fiddler LIVE in the Roots underground speakeasy
DESCRIPTION:Purchase Tickets HERE. \nWyatt Espalin is an award-winning singer-songwriter\, fiddler\, and storyteller whose music captures the raw beauty of his Appalachian roots. Raised on a rustic campground in North Georgia by his maternal grandparents\, Wyatt’s musical journey began with his championship-winning clogging and Appalachian buck-dancing before evolving into a passion for songwriting and performance. \nHis artistry has been recognized through numerous accolades\, including winning the 2014 L.E.A.F. Festival New Song Singer-Songwriter Competition and placing as a finalist in prestigious events such as the Telluride Bluegrass Festival Troubadour Competition\, the Rocky Mountain Folks Festival Songwriter Showcase\, and Eddie’s Attic Bi-Annual Open Mic Shootouts. Wyatt has also shared the stage with an impressive lineup of artists\, including the Indigo Girls\, Jim Lauderdale\, Patty Loveless\, Shawn Mullins\, Lorrie Morgan\, and Sam Bush\, among many others. \nIn 2026\, Wyatt will release his debut full-length album\, Lies From A Lonesome Valley\, featuring his band\, The Riverstones\, and special guest appearances by Amy Ray of Indigo Girls and singer-songwriter Grace Pettis. This collection of songs reflects Wyatt’s deep introspection on identity\, belonging\, and the search for home. Blending haunting melodies\, evocative storytelling\, and rich instrumentation\, the album presents his songwriting through a new lens\, equally suited to intimate duo performances or full-band arrangements. \nWyatt’s personal history informs his music in profound ways. Born in Los Angeles to parents serving in the U.S. Navy\, his early years were marked by instability\, moving between homes and enduring family struggles. After years of upheaval\, he and his brother found stability with their grandparents in the North Georgia mountains. It was here that Wyatt discovered his love for performing\, first as a clogger alongside his brother\, then as a self-taught fiddler inspired by the traditional sounds of Appalachian music. \nHis journey into songwriting began in high school\, influenced by a youth minister who composed songs for church gatherings. Over time\, Wyatt honed his craft\, using music as a form of healing and self-expression. In recent years\, Wyatt has brought that healing to veterans as a writer with the Warrior Week and Music Therapy of the Rockies Songwriting projects as well as Beyond Bars\, a prison songwriting program sponsored by the Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County\, Florida. His songs\, rich with vivid storytelling and emotional depth\, resonate with audiences across the country\, whether performed in a small listening room or on a festival stage.\nBeyond music\, Wyatt embraces his Appalachian heritage\, enjoying camping\, hiking\, rafting\, and kayaking. His connection to nature and his past continues to shape his artistry\, making him a standout voice in contemporary folk and Americana music. As he prepares for the release of Lies From A Lonesome Valley\, Wyatt Espalin remains a compelling performer\, weaving together the threads of his past into music that is both deeply personal and universally moving. \nExperience sound and sight like no where else in the “Roots” where cave meets dramatic lighting and underground speakeasy vibes. Our listening room is a dedicated and acoustically-optimized comedy and music performance space\, seating almost 100 and confidently being one-of-a-kind. Beer and wine service varies upon show. SUMMARY:Low Light Jazz Night: Atmospheric Sounds of Chantae Cann
DESCRIPTION:Get Tickets HERE. \nA new series presented by C+R happening the last THURSDAY of each month. Sponsored in part by UPS store\, Dahlonega Village \n\n\n\n\nJoin us in welcoming a different artist\, band\, or trio each evening of the series. \nThis Thursday evening we are so thrilled to present CHANTAE CANN\, an atmospheric jazz vocalist and songwriter whose voice truly brings your nervous to a calm vibration and quiets the chaos of everyday life in an uncommonly beautiful way. \nIf we’re being honest\, no one’s ever really just heard Chantae Cann. In truth\, you experience her. She opens her mouth and 10\,000 hours of studied mononymous legends filter through that voice. Stevie\, Chaka\, Erykah\, Jill\, India and Brandy. It’s the church in her work. The courageous blend of an authentic soul choosing to exist in the midst of an often inauthentic industry.  Yet somehow she chooses to find strength in her vulnerability.\nChantae Cann\, the artist\, is both jazz and soul. Rooted in gospel\,  reflective of world rhythm and hip hop.\nHer debut release\, Journey to Golden\, landed at #1 on the iTunes Jazz Charts and #7 on the Jazz Billboard Charts in March of 2016\, and was a much welcomed introduction to the songstress.  By the time of her follow-up release\, Sol Empowered\, we were well into the story.  Earning #8 on the Jazz Billboard Charts\, this album resonates with so many because they genuinely connect to the story.  And Chantae\, if nothing else\, knows how to make a connection. Whether it’s the parents who divulge the fact that their kids listen to and sing along to her songs\, or those who express that Chantae’s artistry has gotten them through some pretty tough times. Chantae makes music that serves as a safe haven for those seeking respite and reformation. All the while undergirded with a simple\, but profound truth: Love Heals.\nWhen she’s not working\, Chantae can be found in her private time binge-watching episodes of Sister\, Sister or freestylin these bars since she is an incredible emcee in her head …for now. But even if she’s not in your Top5 Dead or Alive GOAT convo for rappers\, Chantae is one of the best kept secrets in music. She’s collaborated with PJ Morton\, Masego\, Tarriona “Tank” BallSnarky Puppy\, Foreign Exchange\, and Jonathan McReynolds. Chantae has electrified stages with Cory Henry\, Robert Glasper\, and Marcus Miller. She’s opened up for India.Arie\, Tweet\, Avery Sunshine and Lalah Hathaway.
