SUMMARY:Texas Blues-Rock Singer-Songwriter: MARK WINTERS LIVE in the Roots
DESCRIPTION:Purchase Tickets HERE. \nTexas-based rock singer-songwriter Mark Winters is many things; a witty poet\, passionate musician\, entrepreneur\, optimist\, family man\, and a bonafide rocket scientist. He first picked up a guitar to play a song for his wife on their anniversary. That’s when he discovered the joy of connecting with people through music. Mark combines music\, poetry\, a science background\, and love for his community to form his signature sound\, “rock with a positive vibe.” \nHis musical roots are in rock\, blues rock\, and pop\, and John Mayer\, Tom Petty\, and Jason Mraz are significant influences. “My music starts from a place of poetry and creative inspiration\, and I use my ‘rocket-scientist brain’ to find structures that help me explore that initial burst of inspiration and feeling – like writing haikus\, my favorite! My grandmother taught me to express myself through poetry and I’m thankful to her for setting me on this creative and expressive path.” \nMark Winters’ “Boundary Layer” will put you in the high frequency energy state to feel ultra confident to release your old boundaries. – Americana Highways \nWinters writes songs that are catchy and engaging that will brighten your day and lift your mood.” \n– Indie Band Guru \n“Mark Winters is a mad rocket-scientist who finds his charm through the magic of poetry and music” – Testing Melodies \n“And when Winters sings? Man\, he pours his heart and soul into it. You can practically feel the passion in every note. His voice climbs\, and it’s like he’s sending out this wave of hope and positivity.” – Music Arenagh \nConnect authentically to the artists by hearing them in our “speakeasy”-styled intimate listening room\, the Roots\, located underground beneath the Canopy social house. SUMMARY:Indie Country-Folk Singer-Songwriters: Jonathan & Abby Peyton w/ Hunter Blalock
DESCRIPTION:Purchase TICKETS HERE. \nJonathan Peyton is an independent singer/songwriter from Woodstock\, Ga. He writes emotion-evoking songs that tell a story and captivate audiences by their relatability and honesty. With his upbringing in North Georgia\, Jonathan found himself gravitating towards music to help process his life experiences and soon started writing music to tell his stories. \nJonathan and his wife Abigail teamed up with Sadler Vaden of Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit for their 2nd studio album “Nothing Here’s the Same” which released in 2024. They quickly found themselves back in the studio in for their next album “How We’ve Come So Far” which releases in August of 2025. \nJonathan and Abigail have had the opportunity to open for acts such as Zach Bryan\, The Head and the Heart\, Charles Wesley Godwin\, Wyatt Flores\, Drew Holcomb\, and more! In 2023 they opened 2 nights at the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison\, Colorado\, for Zach Bryan. \nHunter Blalock is a songwriter who doesn’t shy away from the heavy stuff. With a worn notebook\, a beat-up guitar\, and a voice that feels like late nights on the road\, he writes songs that say the things most people are afraid to. His music digs into the raw\, real parts of life—the quiet battles\, the heartbreaks\, the unspoken truths—offering connection in places where silence usually lives. \nProudly from Northwest Georgia\, Hunter carries the grit\, grace\, and storytelling spirit of home into everything he does. That place—its people\, its stillness\, its struggles—has shaped him as both an artist and a person. \nHe’s been touring for years\, carving out a space on stages big and small\, and building a following one honest song at a time. His debut record\, Cherokee Hills\, released in November 2024\, captures that spirit—stories wrapped in melody\, meant to meet people where they are. \nHunter’s not chasing fame—he’s chasing truth. Whether it’s a dim-lit venue or the middle of nowhere\, his songs carry a kind of quiet gravity\, and find you when you need them most. \nConnect authentically to the artists by hearing them in our “speakeasy”-styled intimate listening room\, the Roots\, located underground beneath the Canopy social house. Hear the stories behind the songs as the artist(s) share their inspiration and even their heartaches. Doors open at 7:00pm; show starts at 7:30pm; VIP lounge with couches\, booths\, and tables are available. Reserve by emailing events@canopyandtheroots.com . .

SUMMARY:Festival of Sisterhood: Tales from the Throne III
DESCRIPTION:Get tickets HERE. \nA multi-facet traveling festival celebrating Feminenergy and Sisterhood of ALL women through music\, art\, business\, comedy\, and more. \nFestival of Sisterhood is an endeavor to celebrate Feminenergy and Sisterhood of ALL women through the avenues of music\, art\, business\, education and community built on the five pillars of wisdom\, intuition\, empowerment\, authenticity\, and inclusivity. Join us for a multi-artist music and comedy lineup\, happy hour mixer\, women-owned business vendor market\, art exhibition\, and more! Join us on Saturday\, October 11th for the third iteration of Tales from the Throne featuring performances by Alexus Cokley\, Aubrielle Mills\, Cat Littlepage\, Kristi Casey of Mayberry Wine\, and Special Guest Sxvxnt. Doors are at 6PM and show will start soon after. \nWhat does it mean to be one of Feminenergy? It is to be one of substance\, deeper than the beauty of what someone may see on the surface of the skin. Regardless of body type or color\, the beauty really shines through in the intelligence\, the passions\, and ambitions. A tiara or ‘S’ on the chest isn’t necessary to prove how strong she is or to define her as a leader. She is one who believes in Love\, but has Love for the self first\, deserves respect of the Heart\, Mind\, Body\, and Soul\, and won’t allow anyone to play games with the Heart\, nor allow deception of the Soul. She is not perfect or flawless\, but it’s her imperfections that make her all the more unique and authentic. Unconditional Love to the core\, Trust\, Respect\, Loyalty and Equality are the most important to her. One of substance\, one who continues to break down walls\, and one who strives to defy stereotypes. She is strong and she is beautiful on the surface but even more gorgeous and stronger in the workings of her Mind\, Heart and Soul. She is of Feminenergy.

SUMMARY:Hughes Taylor's YOU-PICK-THE-SET-LIST LIVE in the Roots
DESCRIPTION:GET TICKETS HERE. \nThe blues rock trio\, the Hughes Taylor Band\, back at Canopy + the Roots in Dahlonega! \nThis time\, for ONE NIGHT ONLY — you get to pick the songs. \nChoose your top 10 favorite original studio tracks from across the Hughes Taylor catalog. \nThe show’s setlist will be built from fan votes. \nHughes Taylor is a blues-rock guitarist and songwriter from Macon\, Georgia\, known for his fiery sound and masterful guitar work rooted in the spirit of legends like Stevie Ray Vaughan\, Jimi Hendrix\, and the Allman Brothers. With raw riffs\, soulful grooves\, and a voice that cuts through with conviction\, Hughes has carved out a sound that’s both timeless and unmistakably his own.\nHis latest release\, Roasted (2025)\, is a two-part album over three years in the making. Part I: Dark Roast (2024) explores the heavier\, moodier side of blues rock\, while Part II: Light Roast brings a vibrant\, upbeat energy—together forming a full-bodied experience that earned a Blues Blast Award nomination for the single “Ballad of Big Bill McGuire.” The album was recorded across Georgia and mixed at the legendary Capricorn Sound Studios\, drawing on influences like Gov’t Mule\, Joe Bonamassa\, and Steve Gaines.\nHughes’s 2021 album Modern Nostalgia won the Atlanta Blues Society’s “Best Self-Produced CD” and received international acclaim from outlets including Blues Blast Magazine and Blues Matters. His earlier work—including Restless (2018)\, Hear My Melody (2016)\, and the covers record Good Blues\, Fast (2019)—showcases his dynamic range and deep love for the blues-rock tradition.\nIn 2020\, just before the pandemic brought live music to a halt\, Hughes toured the UK as support for the Heather Findlay Band\, earning high praise from press and fans alike. The final shows were captured and released as Live in the UK (2021) on CD and digital.\nFrom teenage basement recordings to international stages\, Hughes has lived and breathed music his whole life. Now\, with Roasted on the road\, he continues to fire up crowds across the country with his authentic sound and commitment to creating music that resonates across generations—proving that blues-rock is alive and well. \nConnect authentically to the artists by hearing them in our “speakeasy”-styled intimate listening room\, the Roots\, located underground beneath the Canopy social house. Hear the stories behind the songs as the artist(s) share their inspiration and even their heartaches. Doors open at 6:30pm; show starts at 7:00pm; VIP lounge with couches\, booths\, and tables are available. Reserve by emailing events@canopyandtheroots.com .

Reserve your VIP table\, couch\, or booth by emailing directly events@canopyandtheroots.com Hear the stories behind the all-original songs as the artist(s) share their inspiration and even their heartaches. \nDoors open at 7:00pm; show starts at 7:30pm. \nTwo country singer-songwriters on one stage for an amazing night of original music from Sydney Shoemaker & Hunter Blalock \nSydney Shoemaker was born in and raised in south Georgia. Her roots run deep underneath the pines of the south and my voice dances through them. It echoed outward when she came into the world in January of 2003; she’s\, thus since\, spent her life searching for it. \nSydney says: \nI have sang since the day I was born. Maybe it was more like a loud cry- but who knows\, right? Growing up was no easy feat for me. Though\, music was there for me since the beginning. When times were hard I often drowned out the world\, listening to songs repeatedly until I learned them inside out. I remember\, even at a very young age\, getting very fixated\, a bit obsessive\, and emotional over certain songs. When I found a song that I related with I suddenly didn’t feel so alone and overshadowed by everything going on in life. I felt like somehow\, someway this song was meant to find me because I had prayed so hard for a friend. A friend that could understand- and suddenly\, this song told me everything I ever wanted to hear. What a feeling\, to have music as a friend. As I got older I began to slowly understand the big emotions I always felt but couldn’t figure them out enough to put into words. In my head\, there was always this giant storm. Writing songs was more than an escape for me- it saved my life. \nIt has been a struggle trying to figure out who I am and who I want to be. However\, one thing I always knew about myself is how much I have always loved older\, classic country. My music is heavily influenced by many great artist before me such as Loretta Lynn\, Tanya Tucker\, Kitty Wells\, Johnny Cash\, Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson. Though I could never live up to the mark they left behind on Traditional country\, Honky – Tonk\, and Folk music – I like to help keep their sound alive. \nMusic is a universal language that is communicated by everyone and everything in some shape or form. I find that to be incredibly beautiful. Especially in trying times – where we start to shy away from our neighbors. We disconnect from others and keep our distance. We turn our backs on one another. Music is something I hope\, I know\, can bring people together in such a beautiful and special way. Especially for that kid in their room who feels like there’s no way out. I hope my music can do for them and for others what my musical influences did for me. On days where I ask myself “ It is even worth it? “ I think about the world today and how much it has drastically changed. How it will keep changing. There is still so much to fight for and bringing each other together through writing my songs\, my stories\, is what keeps me going. We are closer to each other than we all might realize. We just have to be willing to really listen. Music asks that of people. My songwriting asks that of me. \nHunter Blalock is a songwriter who doesn’t shy away from the heavy stuff. With a well worn pen\, a beat-up guitar\, and a voice that feels like late nights on the road\, he writes songs that say the things most people are afraid to. His music digs into the raw\, real parts of life. The quiet battles\, the heartbreaks\, the unspoken truths\, offering connection in places where silence usually lives. \nProudly from Northwest Georgia\, Hunter carries the grit\, grace\, and storytelling spirit of home into everything he does. The place\, its people\, its stillness\, its struggles\, shaped him as both an artist and a person. \nHe’s been touring for years\, carving out a space on stages big and small\, and building a humble following one honest song at a time. His debut record\, Cherokee Hills\, released in November 2024\, captures that spirit—stories wrapped in melody\, meant to meet people where they are. \nIn 2025\, he followed it up with The Ear Bonez Sessions\, a live EP recorded in Athens\, Georgia. Tracked in a side room\, in real time\, the project leans into the grit and intimate nature of his performances. No polish to hide behind\, no walls between the songs and the listener\, just the sound of a writer and the weight of the words. It’s a snapshot of who he is on stage. Unfiltered\, present\, and fully committed to the moment. \nHunter doesn’t chase fame\, he chases truth. Whether it’s a dim-lit venue or the corner of a dive\, his songs carry a kind of quiet gravity\, and find you when you need them most. \nWebsite: hunterblalockmusic.com \nSpotify: \nhttps://open.spotify.com/artist/4KZ2yOgcZD1ZEJ7xxgTytK?si=amZst2FzRUyKuBCaA5VBVw \nSocials: \nhttps://www.instagram.com/hunterwblalock?igsh=aWI2Yno5ZTd3b3g5&utm_source=qr \n\n\n\n\nHunter Blalock is a songwriter who doesn’t shy away from the heavy stuff.
